What's New?

Visiting St-Cirq-Lapopie, designated one of France's 'most beautiful villages,' is always obligatory when people visit. It was already on Edith's 'to do' list, so we made the short trip up the river road. We intentionally went early, arriving at 8:30am to avoid the crowds of tourists that also had this pretty village in their sights. Amazingly, we had the place almost to ourselves for well over an hour before the floodgates opened and people began swarming in from the parking lots. While Edith took the usual tourist photos of the church, the quaint houses, the  tiled rooftops and stunning views, I searched for things I hadn't seen on my numerous previous visits. Here is what's new in St-Cirq....

A brilliantly colored cow...
A plethora of hats...
A Chinese lantern...
A shady terrace set for lunch...
A graceful green pot hanging by a kitchen door.

No matter how many times you've been, there are always new things to see in this lovely medieval village.

  1. Great photos as ever. St. Cirq is also an obligatory stop on our visitor circuit. Glad to see you back. Being without Internet is difficult these days - I know from our recent experience with a thunder storm! Hope you have had a great time with Edith - seems like it.
