When I drove to Caroline's house in Gaillac last week for lunch, I was delighted to see fields that were planted in corn last summer aglow with sunflowers this year. Sunflowers are such happy, friendly flowers, aren't they? These are grown for their oil, not for their floral beauty, but they are joyous just the same. I photographed them in the early morning light as they were just beginning to feel the sun's warmth. They made me smile all day!
