Wildlife Watching

Wildlife watching was on our agenda yesterday. We drove through Yellowstone's Lamar Valley to Cooke City 'on the hunt' for big game. While we didn't spot any grizzlies or wolves, we did check quite a few other animals off our list: deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, bison, mountain sheep and mountain goats. We also spotted three different black bears, two of which had cubs. I'd say we had a successful day!

Everyone has their preferred way to observe the wildlife. Travis brought along a powerful spotting scope which was perfect for watching the mountain goats graze. While Parker watches, Trav glasses the cliffs for more activity...

Chase and Kristin take a more casual approach...
Becky works hard to zoom in for a closer photo of the goats
while Marley is happy just posing for pictures on a rock pile.
