What does this Googled picture of Sponge Bob Square Pants and friends have to do with today's blog post? Well, Sponge Bob was the subject of my story written in French for yesterday's language class. I wasn't sure he was known here, so I wanted my friends to know 'who' I was writing about. It's a small world...they absolutely know Sponge Bob; he's a favorite of Christiane's grandson, Tom! Nothing discouraging about that. What's discouraging is this....

See all those red marks? Those are Christiane's corrections to my French. I am not the kind of student who is used to ANY red marks, much less this many! It's true that I'm learning lots of nouns and verbs, but everything about gtrammar is hard...conjugation, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, articles, possessive pronouns...all hard for me.  I'm very discouraged. I whined about it to Laury today as we walked the dogs. She said I shouldn't be upset by red marks, but should gauge success by getting fewer of them each week.
I'm not sure that's happening.
I'm discouraged
