Un petit cadeau pour vous...

"A little gift for you." It's customary here in France to take a little hostess gift to dinners and apero parties. I've taken a bottle of wine, but have found I'm not quite comfortable doing that. My wine knowledge isn't the best, and I'm always afraid I've picked one that the hostess won't like. Flowers, chocolates, and other bonbons are also nice options. Greg invited a group of us for dinner last Friday evening. I found this jar of plums soaked in Cahors wine (pruneaux au vin de Cahors) at the "le Fins Gourmands" shop in Cajarc. Knowing that Greg's passion is gardening, I topped it with a fresh camellia from Jean's beautiful, blooming bush. Voila! the perfect host gift!
