We met for morning prayer today in the lovely restored church in St. Peyronis. I'm endlessly intrigued by the play of light on stone. This light filtered through the stained glass window over the altar, then passed through the wrought iron altar railing to make this pretty pattern on the stone floor.
The original church on this site was built by the Templar Commanderie at Lacapelle-Livron in 1236. It was destroyed during the 100 Years' War.and the current structure was built in 1542. The restoration is lovely.
It's such a treat to be invited to use this church for our summer worship. Thank you, Pere Serge!
